Joining/Membership

Trinity United Methodist Church is an inclusive, loving family of faith.

Perhaps you've been attending worship at Trinity for awhile, or participating in one of our wide array of programs such as Faithworks, Building Better Moms, Sunday school or other small group, Financial Peace University (and the list on this website goes on!).

Now, you're thinking about becoming a member...

There's no scripture that says, "Thou shalt join a church," but the Bible makes it clear that throughout history, God's followers have always been organized into localized assemblies or communities. Community is so important to grow! Church membership gives you a deep sense of community, a feeling that you belong to a family … that you're at home with us, not just a guest.  Also, membership allows you to help shape the future of our church as you are entitled to vote on matters that occasionally come before the congregation, as well as major decisions on how we will change lives in our community.

How do you join?

1) Profession of Faith.
You have never acknowledge the saving grace of Jesus Christ and have been trying to make it through life by your own wits! You want to pray, ask God's forgiveness for your mistakes and commit to live your life as a follower of Jesus. Or… long ago you wandered away from your early faith and you want to renew your covenant with God.Whichever, you may meet with our pastor and decide if you are ready to join. If you have already been baptized many years ago or as an infant, we recognize your baptism. God's love remains, even when we wander.

2) Transfer from Another Denomination.
You are currently a member of another Christian church, and you want to support Trinity with your prayers, your presence, your financial gifts and your talents, and your witness and your service.  Again, we recognize your confession of faith in Christ and your prior baptism.  We will request a transfer from your current church.

3) Transfer from Another United Methodist Church.
You are currently a member of another United Methodist Church and want to make Trinity your new church home as your support it with your prayers, presence, gifts, witness and service.
